The Companion Shop May 2010  Newsletter    Bad News.....one of our favorite food brands, Natura, has sold out to Proctor & Gamble.  They are the ones that make EVO, California Natural, and Innova.  P & G say they aren't going to change anything, but from past experience I find that hard to believe.    I know it's very hard to wean everybody off of one food and onto another, but I have decided to slowly phase out the EVO and California Natural Dog & Cat foods I carry.  That way when they make those inevitable "corporation" decisions to lower quality to make more money or to keep the price competitive, we won't have to scramble.  Sorry if I offend anyone, I am not a lover of most huge companies.    My choices are to expand the Grain-Free Instinct line of Natures Variety.  They are adding new diets with novel proteins that should be helpful for allergy dogs and cats.  They will make it worth your while to switch over, offering my customers a free bag to try if we expand their line.   Or I could bring in a food called Orijen.  It's  made in Canada, also grain-free, very good ingredient list, several different protein mixes including a fish variety, and one with boar.  Pricey, but real high quality.    Or I could bring in another Raw Food, add a third freezer.    Or I could ask you for ideas.  What foods would you like to see The Companion Shop carry?  Keep in mind I don't want anything the "big box" stores carry, I don't have a lot of room for a food that has 40 different shapes, sizes, and flavors, and I try not to double up on brands that the other little guys like Jay-Mar or Little Pets has.    I would really love ideas!  Thanks, Andi Arts Walk Downtown    Join us to celebrate the local artistic talent our community has to offer.  On Friday, May 21, from 5-8 PM stroll Main Street listening to street musicians as you admire different artistic media displayed in shop windows.  Grab a bite to eat at one of our many and varied restaurants, and enjoy a unique evening in our wonderful downtown.  We will be open until 8 PM that evening.  New Products     Beginning Agility Equipment.....tunnel, tire jump, walk, and weaves  Doggie IQ Games....The Dog Brick, The Pyramid, The Box (games are more inventive than the names)   Coming Soon... ....New Collars & Leashes from RuffWear, and buckling nylon collars (both by customer recommendation)   ...more Dog Breed and Cat Socks (best socks ever!)       Recite to Val or I a tongue twister we've never heard and get   entered to win a gift basket worth over $50, tailor made for your dog or cat.   I haven't heard many but please skip the obvious.   The way these coupons have been going, it might be an easy prize to win ;)
